A Kyoto spring tradition since 1872
Miyako Odori is one of Kyoto’s best-known spring traditions, performed by the geiko and maiko of Gion Kobu.
Since its first performance in 1872, the production has brought the changing seasons of Kyoto to the stage through dance, elaborate kimono and live traditional music.
A new production is created each year, culminating in the colorful grand finale, when geiko and maiko fill the stage together.

Experience Miyako Odori

A stage filled with geiko and maiko
The grand finale is one of the signature moments of Miyako Odori, bringing the performers together in a vibrant celebration of spring in Kyoto.

Kyoto’s seasons brought to life on stage
Dance, beautifully detailed costumes and live traditional music come together to portray scenes inspired by Kyoto and the changing seasons.
Ticket categories
Ticket categories and prices shown above are based on currently available information and will be confirmed when the official 2027 details are announced.
Tea Ceremony before the performance
The First Class Seat and Tea Ceremony ticket includes the traditional tea service held before the performance at the Gion Kobu Kaburenjo.
Guests enjoy matcha and a Japanese sweet while watching the formal tea preparation. The small commemorative plate used for the sweet may be taken home.
The tea service is held in the ryurei style, using chairs and tables, and serves many Miyako Odori guests before each performance.
It is the traditional Miyako Odori tea service rather than a private tea ceremony experience.
Please allow sufficient time before the performance if you plan to attend the tea service.
In addition to the ticket price, applicable J-Plaza and Tokyo Pickup fees are charged per booking.

A pickup option for travelers visiting Tokyo before Kyoto
Tokyo Pickup is designed for travelers whose itinerary takes them to Tokyo before Kyoto — especially those who do not have a reliable delivery address in Japan or do not use LINE.
Pick up your Miyako Odori tickets at J-Plaza in Yotsuya, Tokyo, then continue your journey to Kyoto.
Travel between them takes about 2 hours 10 minutes by Tokaido Shinkansen.
Please make sure your itinerary includes time in Tokyo before you continue to Kyoto.
If your trip goes directly to Kyoto or the Kansai area without visiting Tokyo first, Tokyo Pickup is not suitable for your itinerary.
Check your itinerary before booking
Tokyo Pickup may be a good fit if:
- Tokyo comes before Kyoto in your itinerary.
- You can visit J-Plaza in Yotsuya while you are in Tokyo.
- You do not have a reliable address in Japan where tickets can be delivered.
- You want to manage your booking online without using LINE.
Tokyo Pickup is not suitable if:
- You are traveling directly to Kyoto or the Kansai area without visiting Tokyo first.
- You will visit Tokyo only after Kyoto.
- You are unsure whether you will be able to visit our Yotsuya store before traveling to Kyoto.
Tokyo Pickup is not a general store-pickup option or simply a way to avoid delivery charges. It is intended for travelers whose route through Japan makes collecting their tickets in Tokyo a practical part of their journey.
From booking to pickup
The process is divided into three simple stages. You choose your performance and pickup plan, confirm the conditions and pay, then follow the ticket arrangement through Your Tokyo Pickup.
Choose what works for your trip
Select your preferred date, show time, ticket type and number of tickets from the Tokyo Pickup performance calendar.
Provide the information needed to manage your booking and contact you if necessary. A Japanese address is not required and a telephone number is optional.
Choose the week when you expect to collect your tickets in Tokyo. This is a planned pickup week, not a specific appointment date.
Review the conditions before payment
Confirm the key conditions, including restrictions on changes, cancellations, refunds and switching to delivery.
Payment is completed when you submit your booking. Your card will be charged for the ticket price and all applicable fees.
We arrange the tickets while you follow the status online
J-Plaza will arrange the Miyako Odori tickets requested in your booking. Payment confirms your booking request but does not guarantee that the requested tickets can be secured.
Your personal booking page is available immediately after payment. Check the latest arrangement status and all information you will need for pickup.
Please make sure these conditions work for your trip
Tokyo Pickup is designed around a fixed performance booking and an in-person pickup in Tokyo.
Your performance booking cannot be changed or cancelled
Once booking and payment are completed, the performance date, show time, ticket type and number of tickets cannot be changed or cancelled.
